Process painting is the act of painting while focusing on the process, rather than the outcome.

This experience is much like the art-making from your childhood—stepping up to a blank sheet of paper and seeing what happens, with no judgement, and no expectation.

process painting

Process painting requires no experience and is equally useful to the seasoned artist. It’s a meditation, connecting mind & body, and allowing your intuition to guide the brush and colors. This way of painting is healing, lowers stress & anxiety, builds self-trust & decision making, ignites curiosity, and strengthens self-discovery. It’s a challenge to stand before a blank paper and discover what comes next—it’s sometimes dark and sometimes playful, and I’m there with you in the creatively safe and quiet studio environment as your adventure unfolds.

Process painting provides similar health benefits to yoga, walking, and meditation. Longer sessions deliver an opportunity to find personal discoveries in a deeper and less interrupted way. To experience a richer session, try one of the monthly deep-dive Sunday sessions, or the weekly online option.

If it at all sounds interesting—it’s for you! Make it part of your weekly self-care routine. I’m passionate about Process Painting and am happy to set a call to talk through the best option for your needs.

How it works:

  • I provide paint, 18 x 24” high-quality mixed media paper, and an apron

  • you paint (it’s that simple, yet so challenging)

  • I’m on-hand to help as you explore, or if you get “stuck”

  • your take-away is an insightful experience of self-discovery (+ the painting you make)

  • email to reserve your spot

  • 24-hour cancellation notice required, or subject to full charge for the session

Every 3rd Sunday of the month:

I facilitate a 3-hour deep dive process painting session. It’s an opportunity to really let go and get into the experience of it. With a longer block of time you’re able to navigate into deeper and more insightful territory. (Plus, I have tea & cookies on hand, when you need to take a break).

Tuesday online session:

Another option with a longer block of time is the weekly online Tuesday 3-hour session. It’s an online group setting, where you call-in and paint—with me as the facilitator. Benefits of an online session are, it has the flexibility to be done from anywhere, and could lead to greater insights when you’re able to paint in your own space. I provide a complimentary 15-minute virtual consultation to help you set up your painting space prior to your first session, when needed (just let me know in your sign-up email).

In-Person Session Options:

TUES | 7 - 8:15pm & THURS | 11:30am - 12:45pm | $160 for 4 sessions

Every 3rd SUN. of the Month | 11am - 2pm| $120 per session

Online Sessions:

TUES | 11am - 2pm [PST] $60 per session

can I tell you something?

I’ve been on a life-long journey with art and made art my priority and full-time job in the summer of 2020.

Art is life changing. The lessons learned at the easel transfer to all areas of life, and I feel passionate about sharing what I’ve learned with others.

In June of 2022, I completed a 6-month 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and recently finished a course on The Principles of the Process Arts (equivalent of 26 CEUs).

I continue to educate myself on related studies—neuroscience about art & the brain, studies on trauma & somatic body work, and Process Painting facilitation.

I feel art has healing properties and I want to educate myself to offer the best environment I can for people to bring forth the creative energy that is within each one of us.

What I offer at stilig studio is an opportunity for people to connect more deeply with themselves, and to have fun while doing it.

stilig studio is located on the 2nd floor and not ADA (stairs-only accessible)
